We are expertly qualified to diagnose and treat subluxations, reducing your pain, increasing your mobility and speeding your healing overall.
What is Subluxation of the Spine?
Your spinal column relies on bones to give it support, both those bones must be able to move relative to one another in order for your spine to be mobile. These vertebrae are attached via connective tissues at what is known as synovial joints. This allows the bones to meet, then move apart, without actually detaching from one another, so that your spine can move. A subluxation is when the connective tissue between two vertebrae is partially disconnected (as opposed to full, which is a dislocation).
What Are the Symptoms of a Subluxation?
The main symptoms of a spinal subluxation are a pain, tingling, numbness, stiffness or radiating symptoms in the extremities. In some cases, subluxations may also affect balance, causing you to get dizzy, and can cause significant immobility.
Is Scoliosis Subluxation?
Scoliosis is an unnatural curvature of the spine. While it is not in itself a subluxation, it often results from untreated subluxations in the spine. When these heal improperly, the spine cannot straighten itself the way it needs to, and curvature results.
What Is Subluxation Degeneration?
Subluxation degeneration is an improperly healed subluxation. When the bone does not heal correctly or two bones are near to one another, the body may deposit calcium on them, further reducing mobility and even fusing two bones together. This makes it critical to address subluxations immediately with the help of a qualified chiropractor, who can provide the necessary treatments and adjustments to prevent worsening of and even reverse the condition.
