What if my health insurance is with BCBS or another provider and I still want to go to Matthews Family Chiropractic for my care?

We have found that out-of-network benefits are often greater than in-network benefits. This is what I did from 1990 to 2008 and built one of the largest practices in the USA. We would be happy to sit down with you and go over the most cost-effective ways to reach optimal levels of health.

Why isn’t Matthews Family Chiropractic in-network with BCBS or any others?
August 5th, 2010 by Dr. John | No Comments | Filed in Insurance InformationWe have had many former patients, as well as those who would like to become new patients, ask us why we are not an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield and other insurance companies. I did not even understand how the system worked until 2009. A company called HNS (Health Network Solutions) runs and administers all in-network benefits for BCBS, Cigna, Medcost and Primary Physician Care in North Carolina.
I am at a loss as to how to provide the highest standards of care to my patients in-network. I became an in-network provider in 2008 and it yielded very poor results for the patients of Matthews Family Chiropractic. Being in-network severely limited the number of visits a patient could have, no matter how severe the case. I will never base my care on predetermined insurance benefits. I have never done that with my family of patients. We also discovered our fees are less than most copays!! Here at Matthews Family Chiropractic we are true wellness experts and as such we will always work on behalf of our patient family and not for predetermined insurance coverage.
